Plumbing & Mechanical and Supply House Times join forces to recognize 40 rising professionals dedicated to moving the PHCP-PVF industry forward.

This year, we did things a bit differently with our annual Next Gen All-Stars competition.

In years past, we separated our brands, naming 20 winners for Supply House Times and 20 winners for Plumbing & Mechanical. Each group was featured in its respective magazine, website, and social media channels.

This year, we decided to bring the two together for one overarching competition: the Top 40 Under 40 Next Gen All-Stars.

We figured, why not give these rising industry professionals twice the coverage? And couldn’t the PHCP-PVF industry use that? Deserve it?

After all, this industry has been fighting stereotypes for likely as long as any of you can remember. No matter how long you’ve been in the industry, you’ve probably heard them. Apparently, it doesn’t matter how much money you can make, the countless lives plumbing professionals have helped save, how glamorous those company and industry events can actually be, or how much knowledge, skill, and precision go into the installations, designs, and processes behind the work those in the PHCP-PVF industries do. The stereotypes persist anyway.

But they don’t come close to telling the whole story of the careers available here, the businesses being built, or the knowledge and skill required to do this work well.

Though the world seems to be coming around, and more people are recognizing the opportunities available in the trades, it hasn’t happened without a fight. And it certainly hasn’t happened overnight.

That makes this contest,  recognizing the people who decided to dedicate their careers — their life — to this industry, all the more important.

And that’s really what prompted this change.

So, instead of dividing the recognition between two publications, we wanted to put a bigger spotlight on one group of 40 professionals representing the next generation of the PHCP-PVF industry. Contractors, engineers, technicians, distributors, manufacturers, educators, suppliers and other industry professionals were all eligible because the future of this industry isn't being shaped by just one segment of it.

It’s shaped by the people throughout the entire supply chain.

Behind every nomination was someone saying, “I’ve never met someone more dedicated.” Or “This person exemplifies what an industry all-star should be.” Or “They represent the future of this industry.” And so on and so forth.

So, take your time reading the profiles linked below. Remember their faces, introduce yourself to them at an industry event, congratulate them on this achievement, and maybe even thank them for the work they’ve done thus far.

Because we’re all in this together.

So, without further ado, we give you this year’s Top 40 Under 40 Next Gen All-Stars of the PHCP-PVF industries.  We hope you enjoy reading about them as much as we enjoyed writing about them.
