Herrlein serves as a Quotations Specialist at DSG Supply, where working close to home has taken on a greater meaning. His role gives him the opportunity to support local businesses and contribute to projects that directly affect his own community.

“I enjoy having the opportunity to work with other local businesses on projects that are close to home and have a direct impact on my community and people in my life,” he said.

That connection extends to the customers Herrlein works with every day. Being someone they can count on, and helping their businesses succeed, is one of his biggest motivations.

“Being a reliable partner for our customers and helping them succeed is a big driving force for me,” Herrlein said.

His time at DSG has also given him a greater appreciation for an industry that often operates unnoticed by the people who depend on it.

Herrlein wishes more people understood “how vital the plumbing world is to our society,” noting that much of the work required to keep plumbing systems functioning happens behind the scenes.

Rather than identifying one defining career achievement, Herrlein is most proud of the progress he's been able to make alongside his team. As that team has grown, they've implemented new tools and processes designed to better support DSG's customers.

For Herrlein, those incremental improvements — and being part of a team continually finding better ways to serve its customers — have been more meaningful than any single milestone.

Outside of work, Herrlein has been steadily working toward a different kind of milestone. He's already visited 44 U.S. states, and hopes to eventually check all 50 off his list.
