2026 Next Gen All-Star: Josh Berry
From investor to industry innovator

When Josh Berry first entered the PHCP-PVF industry, it wasn’t in the traditional sense. The first two year in the industry were on the investment side.
“I had the privilege of seeing the industry from the outside first from the viewpoint of an investor. After evaluating hundreds of businesses during my time at Blue Sea Capital we identified a unique opportunity with ProSource,” Berry said.
After two years of standing on the investment side of the table, Berry decided to make the switch. As the chief of staff & vice president, digital, at Prosource Supply, Berry has spent the last two years supporting the build, maintenance, and renovation of housing stock; something he believe the country needs more of. That, he believes, will
“Tackling the housing shortage from the supply side will positively impact the current housing affordability crisis,” Berry said.
He’s been able to see the difference already. With North Carolina and South Carolina seeing rapid growth, being able to see the finished projects that his company has supplied is one of the best aspects of his job.
“It’s rewarding to see those projects through their build, the benefits they provide the community and knowing we were able to support that growth,” Berry said.
The complexity of the industry is also what keeps Berry motivated. He enjoys solving difficult business problems and seeing the tools, processes and solutions developed by his team make an immediate impact.
That complexity is also something he wishes more people understood about PHCP-PVF.
“We support a wide variety of skilled contractors and projects through a vast array of SKUs,” Berry said. “Every day is new and exciting.”
So far, Berry considers building his team and seeing their and the work that they put in meaningfully impact the business his proudest professional accomplishment.
"Every industry has people who show up to do the job in front of them," said Steve Baruch, ProSource Supply. "Then there are the rare few who look at the job and ask, ‘Why are we still doing it this way?’ Josh Berry is the second kind, and he's spent his career at ProSource proving it one system, one dataset, one deployment at a time."
Outside the industry, he’s no stranger to taking on ambitious challenges, either. In college, Berry and a friend attempted to bicycle 100 miles a day for an entire week. They didn’t quite reach their goal, but still managed to ride 486 miles in a single week!
