2026 Next Gen All-Star: Logan Hurt
From apprentice to developing apprentices

Nearly a decade ago, Logan Hurt began searching for his place in the trades. He started as an industrial electrician’s apprentice before switching gears to petroleum construction. He knew he enjoyed working with his hands, but he also wanted a career that allowed him to connect with and help people.
“I felt at the time the best way to be able to help and interact with people more, was to make the move to residential work,” Hurt said.
After bouncing around and exploring different career paths in the trades, Hurt leaned on friends in the plumbing industry and found Seaside Plumbing Inc. Six years ago, he joined the company as an apprentice and finally found the fit he had been looking for.
“Working in the field, I was able to be the one people looked towards to fix their problems,” Hurt said. “I loved being able to diagnose issues, educate people on their plumbing, and make connections to be able to not only help them, but empower them in their time of need.”
Today, Hurt has taken that desire to help others beyond customers. As Seaside’s training manager, he develops future plumbers by giving apprentices the education and confidence they need to succeed in the field.
His own path from apprentice to training manager helps him relate to those just beginning their careers.
“I started at this company six years ago as an apprentice, and now I have moved into the role of training manager,” Hurt said. “It has come full circle and I have put a lot of hard work into a short amount of time to get to where I am today. I am able to connect with the incoming apprentices because I was one of them not too long ago.”
Hurt also brings a bit of an unexpected background to his role. He holds a bachelor’s degree in art, an education that’s ended up contributing to the hands-on creativity he now brings to training.
But behind his drive to keep growing is his biggest motivation: family. In particular, Hurt wants to build a career that makes his son, Teddy, proud.
And after nearly a decade of finding his own way through the trades, Hurt now has the opportunity to help the next generation of plumbers find theirs.
