76 Students Selected for SkillCat HVAC JobReady Program

SkillCat and EGIA launch the HVAC JobReady Program in partnership.

SkillCat has officially launched JobReady, a first-of-its-kind HVAC training and job placement program built to change how people break into the skilled trades.

Launched in partnership with EGIA, JobReady is giving students something the industry has never had at this scale: a faster, more practical pathway from zero experience to real HVAC job opportunities.

The first cohort includes 76 students from across the United States, each selected to participate in a 13-week experience designed to take them from zero experience to job-ready, without years of school, massive tuition costs, or the confusion that keeps so many people from starting.

At a time when the country is facing a growing shortage of skilled trade workers, JobReady is challenging the old way of entering the industry. For too long, people interested in the trades have been told they need to figure it out on their own: find the right school, pay thousands of dollars, buy tools, earn certifications, and somehow get an employer to take a chance on them.

JobReady was built to remove those barriers.

Over the next 13 weeks, students will learn core HVAC fundamentals, earn industry-recognized certifications including EPA 608, receive hands-on training, get a free toolkit, and connect directly with employers actively hiring entry-level technicians.

This is not just online training or just another course. This is redefining workforce development. SkillCat has partnered with 8 companies across the country that are actively looking to hire new technicians. Upon completion of the program, students are guaranteed interviews with hiring companies, giving them something most training programs do not: a direct bridge into real job opportunities.

The first cohort brings together students from different backgrounds, different life stages, and different parts of the country. Some are career switchers. Some are avoiding college debt. Some are looking for a second chance. Some are simply ready to build a stable future with their hands.

“We chose to participate in the JobReady program because we believe there is significant untapped potential among individuals who are entering or reentering the workforce.” said Joseph Amegatcher, CEO of Bavat Intelligence group, one of the 8 companies that will be interviewing JobReady Students. “In our experience, technical skills can be taught, but qualities like work ethic, accountability, adaptability, and a genuine willingness to learn are the real drivers of long-term success.”

Over the next 13 weeks, SkillCat will follow the students as they train, get certified, build hands-on skills, and prepare for interviews with real HVAC employers. The company plans to expand JobReady into future cohorts as demand continues to grow from students, employers, and workforce partners.
