Jimmy Hiller, CEO and founder of Hiller Plumbing, Heating, Cooling & Electrical (Hiller), received his sixth “Most Admired CEOs and Their Companies” award from the Nashville Business Journal. This peer-awarded honor follows Hiller’s prior five recognitions in the 100-500 Nashville-area employee, private business category in 2020, 2019, 2018, 2016, and 2015.

The “Most Admired CEOs and their Companies” award recognizes leaders who continually inspire those around them, operate with integrity and professionalism, and are examples of how companies should be run and managed. Each year, Nashville’s business community submits nominations for those leaders believed to be among the best-of-the-best. From these nominations, a select group of previous winner CEOs select the final recipients.

Hiller and other honorees were presented with the award via live announcement during a private dinner reception at the Grand Hyatt Nashville on Dec. 9. Members of the Hiller family, Hiller’s executive team, peers, and esteemed guests celebrated alongside of him.

“It is such a wonderful honor to be recognized again this year," Hiller said. “It is especially meaningful to be included among such an inspiring group of Nashville’s CEOs. Our team inspires me to be the best I can be each and every day. Without them, recognition like this would not be possible and we would not be where we are today.”

For other leaders at Hiller, this award does not come as a surprise.

“Few leaders can inspire teams like Jimmy Hiller. His work ethic, commitment to serving our community with the highest level of integrity, and ability to motivate others to achieve the best versions of themselves is unmatched," said Philip Mize, the company’s chief financial officer. "This honor could not be bestowed upon a more deserving individual”.

Jimmy Hiller Jr., Hiller’s COO and Jimmy Hiller’s eldest son, echoes these sentiments. “Growing up alongside the company, I was able to witness the unparalleled dedication, relentless pursuit of goals, and true care for others that propelled the business into what it is today," said Hiller Jr. "None of it could have been possible without a leader like Jimmy, who truly inspires others."

Launched in 1990 with a single truck and just $500, Hiller has grown to include over 500 trucks, 14 locations, and more than 700 employees across four states in the southeast.
