Heating with Renewable Energy

$169.95
Books

Product Details

Learn how how to merge renewable heat sources (such as solar thermal collectors, hydronic heat pumps, and wood-fired boilers) with the latest hydronics hardware and low temperature distribution systems to assemble efficient, reliable, and economically sustainable systems. The book is easy to understand and packed with full color illustrations that provide detailed piping and control schematics and "how to" information you’ll use on every renewable energy system. To help you understand how common hardware operates and how to select it, the author starts with basic building blocks, turns mathematical treatments of technical issues into easy-to-use tools, and concludes with complete renewable energy system designs that show the synergy of detail and function possible with state-of-the-art hardware and design methods. Using this one-of-a-kind book, you’ll diversify your expertise over a wide range of heat sources.

Features:

  • Demonstrates that modern hydronics technology is the "glue" that holds together nearly all thermally based renewable energy systems.
  • Focuses on details rather than just concepts to provide readers with the nuts & bolts information required for real solutions.
  • Includes extensive full color illustrations that provide detailed piping and control schematics, as well as reference information that designers will use on every system.
  • Uses standard English measurement units exclusively, guaranteeing consistency with today’s US industry practices.
  • Provides mathematical design tools, along with complete examples of how they are used, to help designers learn to analyze variations in system design and make informed decisions long before any hardware gets assembled.
  • Shows the common design elements of systems with different renewable energy heat sources to help designers learn how to migrate details and subsystems among systems using different renewable energy heat sources.
  • Starts with "building blocks" and finishes with complete system designs to ensure that designers aren’t left wondering how common hardware operates or how to select it.
  • Covers a wide range of renewable energy heat sources for space heating and domestic hot water, allowing readers to diversify their expertise.
  • Includes a downloadable academic version of author-developed software that assists with the design calculations and procedures presented in the book.
