Many home services professionals are incredibly busy running their business, serving customers in the field and purchasing supplies. We know you’re practically living in your truck, constantly on the go, so, when are you supposed to do any research? Learn new skills? Grow your business? Take it to the road!

These days, so much information can be gained from podcasts and they’re incredibly accessible. Anyone can listen and learn from a podcast while also doing something else, like when you're driving between calls. There aren't any articles to read, videos to watch or pictures to look at. But with hundreds of thousands of podcasts to choose from, what are the best shows for Plumbing & Mechanical readers to listen to?

Here are my three top podcast recommendations to help you get started on your podcast journey:

The Sharpest Tool

The Sharpest Tool, produced by internet marketing company Scorpion, is specifically for home services contractors who want more customers, more jobs and more success in their careers. Hosted by Josh Smith, vice president of internet marketing for the home services division at Scorpion, the show was created to educate professionals like you with valuable information from industry experts who explain best business practices, provide insights and share experiences. Listeners will learn how to brand their home services business, become more trusted in the community, deliver great customer service, generate repeat business and more.

Listen on: Scorpion, Stitcher, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, TuneIn, Google Play, Simplecast

Potty Talk LIVE

Potty Talk LIVE is a fun and informative podcast in the format of an online talk show for plumbing business entrepreneurs and is focused on the business of plumbing. Richard Behney, the Million Dollar Plumber, interviews industry experts and plumbing business owners from around the world, and offers tips, strategies and techniques to help grow your plumbing business.

Listen on: Potty Talk LIVE, Stitcher, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts

How I Built This

How I Built This, produced by NPR, dives into the stories behind some of the world's best-known companies. Hosted by Guy Raz, the podcast weaves a narrative journey about innovators, entrepreneurs and idealists — and the movements they built. If you’re looking to hear how today’s biggest brands came to be — from inception to growth to domination — this is the podcast for you.
