A Massachusetts plumbing contractor replaced an aging indirect water heater with a larger system designed to accommodate future renovations and improve efficiency.

KAI served as the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection (MEP/FP) Engineer for the new JPS Health Network Medical Home Southwest Tarrant clinic serving the Fort Worth Wedgewood neighborhood.

The eight-story, 130,000-square foot Silverleaf Hall includes 55 units under contract with NYS Supportive Housing Program for formerly homeless families and 63 affordable units available to single adults and families earning less than 80% AMI.

Three (3) Hybrid Hot commercial water heating systems (Model No.: NHH199100), manufactured by Noritz America, represented by its local sales agent, Tipton Company (Conroe, Texas), were used in this project. 

The replacement of the old units was made viable through California’s rebate programs, which in some instances covered the entire cost of the units. 

In addition to modernizing energy infrastructure, the project supported Pierce County’s utilization goals, including a 30 percent engagement of local contractors and participation by small and minority/women-owned business enterprises.

The premiere episode, “After the Fires,” takes viewers to Pacific Palisades and Altadena, California, where devastating fires in January 2025 left lasting impacts on homes, businesses and communities.
