Adding a bathroom remains one of the most popular home improvements consumers make. 

Earlier this year, spring floods hit Indiana, Michigan and Ohio hard, killing several people and displacing thousands of others from their homes. 

When a customer in suburban Philadelphia called Jason Golden, owner of J. Golden Plumbing Heating Cooling in Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania, for a plumbing and heating retrofit, Golden had a solution that delighted the customer in a couple ways.

The 45,000 square foot facility is expected to be completed during the Spring of 2021. Grundfos is currently seeking to achieve LEED Platinum certification.

As the Coronavirus crisis continues to unfold, revised standards in bathroom design are coming into play. 

The training facility, designed for the plumbing industry, will generate all energy required to support the operation of the building on site through the incorporation of several renewable energy technologies.

Plumbing & Mechanical recently had the chance to catch up with industry veteran Mark Chaffee, the vice president of governmental relations and sustainability at Cranston, Rhode Island-based Taco Comfort Solutions.
