Apprenticeship has long been the heartbeat of the plumbing and HVAC trades. But for today’s apprentices, training looks different than it did for their mentors and parents. With new online programs, flexible learning schedules, and updated curriculum that reflects the latest industry standards, apprentices are able to gain both the technical “booksmarts” and the on-the-job confidence needed to thrive.

HVAC enrollment for the PHCC Academy has seen a significant growth (1,984 percent) over the past 5 years – a trend the Foundation expects to continue in the future.

Applicants must be plumbing or HVAC apprentices or trade school students, or college students pursuing studies directly related to the plumbing-heating-cooling industry.

Every year, more than 6,000 students participate in the SkillsUSA Championships, the nation's largest hands-on workforce development event.

A packed classroom of twenty-seven attendees engaged in a highly interactive and intense two-day workshop conducted May 3-4.
