Boiler manufacturer Baxi held a dinner and press conference for members of the media at ISH Frankfurt this past March. The company is No. 3 in Europe and No.1 in the United Kingdom and Spain.

Mark Edwards, CEO of Baxi Group, in discussing the future of the European boiler market, said there are three main messages:

1. The market in growing in terms of volume.
2. The move to wall-hung gas appliances is projected to continue.
3. The market for renewable energies, while growing fast, is still a small market.

The company introduced new products at ISH Frankfurt, including a wall-hung boiler with a low energy-consuming pump; a modulating oil burner for domestic appliances; an automated pellet boiler; a wall-mounted micro CHP (combined heat and power) unit for single-family homes powered by a Stirling engine; and a micro CHP unit powered by a fuel cell.

Marathon International is the exclusive distributor of Baxi products in North America, including condensing and noncondensing wall-hung boilers and water heaters. Baxi now has flat-panel solar heating systems available for the North American market.
