AFSA webinars to cover changes to 2016 NFPA 13

February 1, 2016

The American Fire Sprinkler Association announced its upcoming two-part live webinar event, “Changes from the 2013 Edition of NFPA 13 to the 2016 Edition,” for Feb. 17 and March 30. Both parts will be presented by 2014 Henry S. Parmelee Award winner James Golinveaux.

The NFPA 13: Standard for the Installation of Fire Sprinkler Systems 2016 Edition has many changes from the 2013 Edition. This two-part webinar series will explore in-depth the revisions throughout the standard. In order to accurately understand and apply this standard, it is imperative one understand the changes made and the rationale behind those changes. Costly mistakes can be avoided by understanding these revisions.

Part 1 will be presented Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. CST. The two-hour webinar will cover all the revisions from Chapters 1 through 11 (excluding Chapter 9 Hanging and Bracing) in detail, with explanation and opinion on why the change was made. Attendees can earn .20 CEU and 2.0 CPDs.

Part 2 will be presented March 30 at 11 a.m. CDT. It will run for 90 minutes and will cover all of the revisions from Chapters 12 through 25 in detail. Attendees can earn .15 CEU and 1.5 CPDs.

This two-part event is free to AFSA members; the cost for nonmembers is $250 per part. There is a $20 fee for CEU certificates for both members and nonmembers. To register, visit firesprinkler.org/webinar.
