Hansgrohe talks water conservation for Fix a Leak Week

March 12, 2012
Hansgrohe celebrates national Fix a Leak Week, March 12-18, with sustainable message.

Hansgrohe will be giving away its stylish and water-conserving Croma E 75 Green 1-Jet showerheads.

Hansgrohe is taking its sustainable message to the social media airwaves for the fourth annual national Fix a Leak Week, March 12-18. According to WaterSense, “The amount of water leaked from U.S. homes could exceed more than one trillion gallons per year - the equivalent to the annual water use of Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami combined.” As a WaterSense partner with a current product offering of more than 220 WaterSense-certified models, Hansgrohe is a major proponent of the cause to save this precious resource and change statistics like these.

Hansgrohe kicks off Fix a Leak Week with several fun and interactive initiatives on www.facebook.com/hansgroheusa and via Twitter (@hansgroheusa):

  • Showerhead giveaway. Hansgrohe will be giving away its stylish and water-conserving Croma E 75 Green 1-Jet showerheads (pictured) to the first 250 facebook users who answer the question “What does water mean to you and how do you save it?” on Hansgrohe USA’s wall. This gift is truly one that keeps on giving as it not only conserves water, but reduces costs.
Hansgrohe recently installed its low-flow showerheads and faucets in the Château Élan, a resort near its Georgia headquarters. Since the switch-out, the hotel management has reported a savings of about $14,000 to $15,000 per year on its water bill and 112 gallons of water-use reduction per occupied room.

  • Live chat with an expert. Hansgrohe’s Melissa Carpenter, a veteran of the company’s Technical Support Center, will be available from 2–3 p.m. every day during Fix a Leak Week to answer questions via the comment feeds on Facebook. Users should feel free to tweet questions to Hansgrohe using its handle @hansgroheusa.

  • Tips, tricks and water-saving techniques. In addition to the ongoing water conservation dialogue on its Facebook wall, Hansgrohe also will post water-saving advice, as well as highlight WaterSense-certified products. The company will end the week with a link to Hansgrohe’s cutting-edge Water Savings Calculator on its recently revamped website. With the calculator tool, visitors can enter their personal consumption data and the system will visually and numerically display how much water and money can be saved by opting to use Hansgrohe’s low-flow products.

  • How-to video. Hansgrohe will also include a step-by-step video, which will clearly illustrate how to change out an old aerator or showerhead in favor of a more eco-friendly option, like the many which are offered through Hansgrohe. In addition to WaterSense products, sustainable standouts from the company also include items equipped with Hansgrohe’s proprietary EcoAIR technology, which adds air to every drop of water, enabling up to 40% water savings without sacrificing performance.
