This is one trade show that never fails to impress first-time or long-time attendees. The last ISH event in 2001 featured more than 2,200 exhibitors from 42 countries spread out on 2.5 million-sq. ft. of floor space and attracted more than 200,000 visitors from 100 nations.
The Viega/PM trip costs $1,700 per person, which includes lodging, breakfasts, dinners and ground transportation. Airfare is not included. Itinerary At A Glance
Sunday, March 23:Guests meet at Frankfurt airport for bus transportation to Hotel Burg Schnellenberg, www.burg-schnellenberg.de, an 800-year-old castle located in Attendorn. Attendorn is also the headquarters of Viega Germany. That evening Viega hosts a VIP reception with an official welcome from company owner Heinz-Bernd Viegener.Monday, March 24: A visit to Viega world headquarters in Attendorn is the day's activity. The visit will include a tour of Viega's ProPress XL production facility, the Viega training center in Ennest, its bronze-casting foundry (the largest and newest in Europe) and a tour through the distribution logistics center. The evening's entertainment includes a tour of Europe's largest stalagmite cave in Attendorn followed by dinner at Hotel zur Post, a local restaurant.
Tuesday, March 25: The day begins with a tour of Viega's fitting manufacturing plant in Grossheringen, a coffee break at the former West German/East German border, lunch at the Grossheringen training center, concluding with a tour of the ProPress copper fitting production. The evening finds guests in Weimar at the Inter-City Hotel (www.intercityhotel.de). Dinner is at local brewery Felsenkeller.
Wednesday, March 26: A tour of various construction sites is provided to see what the trades in Germany and the United States have in common, as well as what they do differently. Guests check into Hotel Hoehn (www.hotel-hoehn.de) in Ruedesheim. Dinner and wine tasting is the evening's entertainment.
Thursday, March 27: Today is a visit to the ISH show. Attendees will tour the Viega booth. Shuttle transportation between the trade show and hotel is included. Dinner is on a cruise ship.
Friday, March 28: More ISH today. Guests travel to Heidelberg for the remainder of the day and check into the Ibis Intercity Arcade Hotel (www.accor-hotels.com).
Saturday, March 29: The day's agenda is sightseeing and shopping in Heidelberg.
Sunday, March 30: Guests return to the States. Shuttle service will be provided from Heidelberg for departing flights from Frankfurt.
