Quarles was the third-generation owner and president of Bank Quarles PHC Inc., in his lifetime home Tuscaloosa, Ala. Besides being a C-2000 member for eight years, he was also active in several other business and community organizations.

He is survived by wife Paula, daughter Karen, son Jeffrey and several other family members.
