NexCore closes 2025 with growth
The company completed three acquisitions in 2025.

NexCore concluded 2025 with continued momentum and growth. The company expanded its footprint through three acquisitions in 2025, adding more than 155 employees and bringing the total NexCore team to over 900 full-time employees across six operating hubs nationwide. NexCore now services a broad geographic region across the Northeast and Southeast, supporting a base of commercial clients.
NexCore’s 2025 growth included the addition of Action Air Systems, Accutemp Engineering, and FX Automation.
Action Air Systems, based in Connecticut, is a full-service mechanical contractor offering commercial HVAC service through preventive maintenance contracts, design and build, installation and repair, plumbing, piping, and sheet-metal fabrication to commercial, industrial, institutional and government clients. Accutemp Engineering, based in Massachusetts, provides commercial HVAC service through preventive maintenance contracts, design and build, construction, air quality testing and ductwork services. FX Automation, a commercial HVAC controls solutions provider serving customers throughout Massachusetts, was acquired as a tuck-in to Accutemp, enabling the platform to bring building automation and controls capabilities in-house and further enhance service and installation offerings for customers.
These acquisitions mark the ninth, tenth, and eleventh additions to the NexCore platform since its formation in March 2023 by Trinity Hunt Partners. NexCore has steadily expanded through a combination of platform and tuck-in acquisitions, including Alliance Group, Pratt & Smith Electric, Sylvester & Cockrum, Avonda Air Systems, Rycandon Mechanical, Kennedy Mechanical, and Ryan Plumbing & Heating.
“As NexCore approaches its third anniversary, we are proud and excited to welcome Action Air, Accutemp, and FX Automation to the NexCore family,” said Steve Knowles, CEO of NexCore. “These companies are deeply rooted in their communities and share our commitment to customer service and employee experience. Our partnership with Trinity Hunt continues to accelerate our growth, allowing us to invest in people, processes, and technology that enhance our service capabilities. We remain focused on building a workplace culture that supports our team and delivers consistent results for our customers.”
Over the past 18 months, NexCore has also strengthened its leadership team with key executive additions, including Brian Nienstedt as Chief Development Officer, Brandt Walker as Chief Operating Officer, Al Rollins as Chief HR Officer, and Troy Scott as Chief Financial Officer. Together with CEO Steve Knowles, the management team is building a national leader in commercial HVAC services, scaling best-in-class service organizations through disciplined acquisition and integration.
“NexCore’s success in partnering with high-quality businesses and executives demonstrates the platform’s ability to establish a strong foothold in a highly fragmented industry,” said Garrett Greer, Partner at Trinity Hunt. “Action Air, Accutemp, and FX Automation represent the type of partners we seek to continue attracting as we expand our platform and better serve our growing customer base.”
NexCore continues to seek opportunities to expand its platform with like-minded partner companies in the commercial HVAC industry.
