SKYLAR HALPIN

Age: 34

Company: Halpin Plumbing

Title: General Manager

How long have you been in the PHCP-PVF industry?

SH: I started working for our family company shortly after college in 2012

What drew you into the industry?

SH: My dad. He is the current owner and needed help around the same time I was job hunting. It was almost meant to be.

What is the most rewarding aspect of working in the industry?

SH: Being able to help people and solve problems. I am not sure there’s a better feeling that hanging up a phone and knowing you were able to give someone peace of mind.

What motivates you every day?

SH: Our employees. We have a phenomenal crew and most of them came to us as apprentices who we have been able to watch grow over the years. We are always learning in this industry and to see everyone including the office invest in this ever evolving field makes me so happy. That passion directly benefits our customers and we couldn’t be luckier.

What is one thing you wish more people knew/understood about the PHCP-PVF industry?

SH: How much goes into behind the scenes. The hours of cleaning trucks, prepping for jobs and the high costs associated with things like insurance and equipment. I believe our industry is oversimplified in the average homeowners mind.

What has been the proudest moment in your career so far?

SH: Passing my Ohio State Plumbing License test. Also, in 2021 when we had a record sales year for our company.

What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

SH: I love animals. I have my dog, Peach in the office with me every day and spend any free time I have fostering cats and dogs.
