Welcome to the forefront of the radiant heating and cooling revolution, where innovation meets sustainability and expertise shapes the future. If you haven’t heard about The Radiant Professionals Alliance (RPA), we are a dynamic international trade association at the heart of pioneering advancements in intelligent hydronics and radiant systems. As part of The IAPMO Group, the radiant heating and cooling industry embarks on new horizons; we stand at the crossroads of innovation, advocacy and collaboration, providing a functional and inclusive platform for industry professionals.

Empowering tomorrow: Committee formations and strategic leadership

Within the halls of our recent meetings, the RPA community witnessed a defining moment. Committees were not just formed; they were crafted as engines of change. The Advisory Committee, the Hydronics Industry Alliance Committee and other key positions emerged, each embodying the expertise and dedication of our members. This strategic foundation is not just organizational architecture; it’s the framework upon which our sustainable future is built.

The echoes of IAPMO’s 94th annual Business Conference in San Antonio, Texas, still resonate in our community. At the end of September, the RPA convened in person, creating an equitable atmosphere where ideas flowed freely and connections were forged. The charm of San Antonio served as the backdrop for spirited discussions, in-depth committee meetings and collaborative sessions that illuminated the path forward for our association. One of the highlights of our in-person sessions was an exclusive demonstration of the Building Efficiency System Tool (BEST). Over breakfast, attendees were treated to a firsthand experience of this cutting-edge tool that is transforming the way we model, analyze and optimize radiant heating and cooling systems. The demonstration was not just informative; it was a glimpse into the future of our industry, where precision and innovation converge seamlessly.

Advocacy and collaboration: Shaping policies and forging partnerships

Beyond meetings, our influence reverberates through legislative chambers and international collaborations around the world. Hosting the IAPMO Government Relations team at our Q2 virtual meeting session provided us with vital insights into legislative landscapes, and just how we fit. Our partnership with the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA), as outlined in our Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marks a transformative alliance. It’s a pact not just between organizations, but between industries, ensuring consistent education for design and installations that drive the thermal energy network (TENS) sector forward, bringing well-deserved attention to how geothermal and using water as energy can help decarbonize our environment.

Looking ahead, the RPA is set to continue its momentum with co-located meetings alongside IAPMO/ASSE and ARCSA. These collaborations signify more than just partnerships; they represent a harmonious convergence of expertise, advocacy and shared purpose. By co-locating our events, we are not just aligning calendars; we are creating opportunities for multifaceted learning, diverse networking and impactful collaborations.

With that said, the fast-approaching 2024 AHR show is in Chicago this year. The RPA community is poised for a significant impact, with education tracks, business meetings and more as we gain support with our mission. This event is not just an opportunity to learn; it’s a platform to demonstrate our industry’s impact and build bridges.

Revolutionizing radiant systems: The BEST way

In our mission to elevate intelligent hydronics, we are armed with cutting-edge tools like the BEST software. The Hydronics Industry Alliance Committee (HIA-C) is at the helm of this tool’s expansion and is excited for its future, with more options than ever, serving decision-makers with valuable data. More than a mere application, BEST is the linchpin of our progress. Its precision and efficiency empower us to model, analyze and optimize our systems expectations, aligning seamlessly with our vision for a sustainable future, where water is energy. Watch out for exclusive demos and expert reviews as we delve deeper into the capabilities of this transformative free-to-use software.
