ASA’s Women in Industry division recently announced Bergen, New York-based Liberty Pumps President and Chief Operating Officer Robyn Brookhart is the recipient of the 2021 Alice A. Martin Woman of the Year Award.

Brookhart will be honored during the first day of the ASA Women in Industry Division’s ELEVATE2021 Virtual event on April 20, and at the ASA Annual Member Luncheon on the second day of NETWORK2021 at the JW Marriott Las Vegas Resort & Spa on Wednesday, Nov. 10.

The annual Alice Martin Woman of the Year Award recognizes women in the PHCP-PVF industry who have a record of significant accomplishment within the industry and embody the character of the late Alice Martin of NIBCO.

“I am extremely honored to be this year’s recipient of the Alice Martin Woman of the Year Award,” Brookhart said. “To me, this award is a symbol of the collective contributions of women throughout our industry and in particular, those active within the Women in Industry division of ASA.  This is a group and an industry that I’m incredibly proud to be part of.  Alice Martin was a trailblazer and remains a true icon.  To be receiving an award that bears her name is humbling, to say the least.  To me, the meaning of this award is an acknowledgement and a promise.  It’s an acknowledgement of the importance to further the careers and foster the professional growth of women in our workplaces. And it’s a promise to our daughters that we’ll continue to work toward providing opportunities in which they can thrive.”

Regarding Brookhart’s impact on women in the industry, Liberty Pumps Marketing Communications Manager Laurie Pfaff said, “With Robyn as a role model, along with her personal mentorship, many women have more confidence to seek advancement, which has led to an increased number of women on the leadership team at Liberty Pumps.”

Speaking about the importance of the award, ASA Women in Industry Chairwoman Rebecca Falish (InSinkErator) said, “The Alice A. Martin Woman of the Year award is essential to our industry because it recognizes the efforts required behind the scenes every day to help women in our industry emerge confident and qualified. We felt Robyn exemplified everything we look for in an ASA Women in Industry Woman of the Year Award recipient.”

Brookhart is looking forward to receiving her award at NETWORK2021 in November, and plans to continue her mentoring and professional development efforts in support of women at Liberty Pumps and across the entire industry.
