An installer is asked to use a pellet-fired boiler to supply heat to two zones of low-temperature radiant floor panels. The system includes a three-way motorized mixing valve to reduce the supply water temperature to the distribution circuits.

An installer sets up a zoned distribution system. To keep it simple, he uses the same size piping for the headers and all the distribution circuits. The heat source is a low-mass copper tube boiler with high flow resistance.

In the ground beneath the Honda Smart Home’s backyard, eight 20-ft. deep boreholes allow a geothermal heat pump to heat and cool the home’s floors and ceiling throughout the year.

The thermostat can be used as a floor-temperature sensor, an air-temperature sensor or both. It automatically adjusts to changing external conditions to give optimal start-up times so there is no wasted energy.

It features a twin conductor with 15’ cold lead and is available in 30 to 468 linear ft. at 120V and 55 to 935 linear ft. at 240V.

Its ability to detect and visualize heat, including differences in temperature, allows users to see in complete darkness.
