In recognition of National
Childhood Injury Protection Week, Sept. 1 -7, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing is
offering advice to parents on how to prevent their children from getting hot
water burns.
Manufacturers are exploring
ways to address California AB 1953, which limits the weighted average lead
content in pipe, fittings and fixtures used to convey drinking water to 0.25
percent on wetted surfaces. It goes
into effect Jan. 1, 2010.
The New York Times reports that, with the housing market in the doldrums and inflation
running at a pace unseen in nearly two decades, consumers are not buying new
homes. Instead they are focusing on repairs.
The feat was the center attraction of the company’s
annual “Kids Day” outing for company personnel and their families, held July 19
at its North American headquarters in Alpharetta, Ga.
As
part of its efforts to encourage water efficiency across the country, the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency announced that five builders will participate
in the Water-Efficient Single-Family New Homes Pilot Program.
Gerber
Plumbing Fixtures announced Warriner Smith Utilities Inc. (Nanuet, N.Y.) as its
grand-prize winner for the “75 Years of Professional Performance” campaign, created
as a gesture of gratitude to the entire plumbing trade.
