The deadline to submit a completed application -
including typewritten description, photos and schematics/drawings for
consideration in any of six categories - is July 15.
The date change is in response to USGBC
members’ requests for more time to absorb the changes in the next version of the
rating system, said USGBC President and CEO Rick Fedrizzi.
A little over a week after Vice
President Joe Biden commented that "there are an
awful lot of smart plumbers," PHCC president Keith Bienvenu has reached out to Biden for help in spreading
positive messages about the plumbing profession whenever he can.
Over
the past two years, construction employment was virtually unchanged but the number
of unemployed hardhats fell by 605,000, suggesting workers are quitting
construction, either to take jobs elsewhere, return to school, retire or
otherwise leave the workforce.
Members of the ecobee team are traveling
cross-country in an ecobee-branded RV and will stop at more than 50 ecobee
distributor locations by June 25 to host morning, lunch and afternoon events for
HVAC contractors.
The purpose of the foundation
is to raise awareness of the industry, attract new members to the workforce and
enhance the quality of the available workforce in the industry.
