Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis recently announced
awards of $1.8 million in grants to consortia in six states through the Women
in Apprenticeship and Nontraditional Occupations program.
The program allows select AERCO boiler and water
heater parts to be returned and refurbished to the performance of a new part.
E2N assemblies and equipment provide the same functionality
as a brand new model, offering a more economical manner to maintain boiler and
hot water systems.
Dina Dwyer-Owens,
chairwoman and CEO of Mr. Rooter Plumbing’s parent company The Dwyer Group, was
named a winner in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards in the Southwest
Area North program.
Three participants who
complete the training course will be entered to win all-expense-paid trips to
racing events in Orlando and Daytona Beach,Fla., and Las Vegas.
An
AGC analysis released June 26 showed construction employment increased in 126
out of 337 areas for which BLS provides construction data (including divisions
of larger metros), declined in 164 and stayed stagnant in 47.
A loose internal electrical connection of the spa
heaters can overheat and ignite, posing a fire hazard. Watkins has received 31 reports of heaters on
these spas overheating, five of which resulted in a fire.
