AHR Expo returns to Chicago with energy, excitement and a focus on decarbonization, refrigerants, sustainability and the future of HVACR

With an increasing focus on decarbonization and electrification, the AHR Expo, dubbed HVACR’s largest event of the year, returns to Chicago’s McCormick Place Jan. 22-24.

PHCCCONNECT 2024 will be held Oct. 7-9, 2024 in Birmingham, Alabama. 

This year’s program will feature more than 110 free seminars, a robust panel series lineup, new product and technology presentations, professional certifications and continuing education courses.

Fall is conference and tradeshow season in the plumbing and HVAC world.

PHCCCONNECT2023 will be held this year on Oct. 25-27 in Cleveland, Ohio.

I always seek out the Bradford White booth to see what’s new and visit with friends both old and new. It was fun catching up with Carlos Morales because we had worked closely together several years ago in the development of the company’s gas-fired tankless water heater line. Lois and I had the opportunity to beta-test a number of tankless models and report back on their performance. Stability of delivery temperature; showering while other hot water usages ran simultaneously or intermittently; and, of course, attempting to max out the full-flow capacity.

With increasing awareness on energy efficiency, natural gas bans, decarbonization and indoor air quality, the world has been undoubtedly changed, and the plumbing and HVACR industries continue to be on the frontlines of these challenges.

The National Kitchen and Bath Association had a monumental year in 2022. It kicked off with the first in-person Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) event since 2020. Last year also marked the 60th anniversary of the association and the 10th year since KBIS and the International Builders’ Show (IBS) joined forces to create what is now known as Design and Construction Week (DCW)’s NAHB Builders Show.
