The Wrench Group announced that Ken Haines is its new chief executive officer, effective July 1. A 36-year industry veteran, Haines has spent the past 20 years in a number of leadership roles, most recently as president and CEO of Coolray in Atlanta.

The Wrench Group, which will be headquartered in Marietta, Ga., provides essential home maintenance and repair services, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing and electrical services. It brings together four regional brands serving more than 140,000 customers: Abacus and Berkeys in Dallas and Houston, led by Alan O’Neil; Parker & Sons in Phoenix, led by Paul Kelly; and Coolray, which will now be led by Paul Smith.

Investcorp, a provider and manager of alternative investment products, announced a majority investment in the company in March 2016.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the group and work alongside the excellent, existing leadership teams of the Wrench brands,” Haines said. “By leveraging our strong local brand recognition, sharing best practices and working collaboratively across the business, we are well-positioned to expand within our current regions and enter into new attractive geographies as we significantly expand our scale. We continue to look to augment our industry-leading organic growth with strategic acquisitions of like-minded organizations.”
