ISH China Changes Venue, Adds Solar Thermal Area

August 17, 2011
The 2012 ISH China-CIHE show is expected to attract 35,000 visitors.

To meet increased demand, the 2012 show will move to the larger New China International Exhibition Center.

Due to an increased number of exhibitors, ISH China & CIHE, the China International Trade Fair for Sanitation, Heating, Ventilation & Air-Conditioning, will move to a new venue for its 2012 edition. The three-day show, organized by Messe Frankfurt (Shanghai) Co. and B&D Tiger Exhibition Co., will be held at Beijing’s New China International Exhibition Center April 2-4. The new venue is located close to Beijing’s Capital International Airport. Organizers are expecting to attract 1,000 exhibitors and 35,000 visitors.

Richard Li, deputy general manager of Messe Frankfurt in China, said that exhibitors and visitors had welcomed the 2011 merger between ISH China and CIHE, saying it created an improved platform for industry communication.

“As a result, 300 well-known companies have already confirmed their participation for 2012,” he explained, “and because many wanted larger booths to promote their brand image and products, we decided to move to a larger and newer venue.”

Li Hongbo, general manager of Beijing B&D Tiger Exhibition Co., added that the new venue has the most advanced exhibition facilities in Beijing.

In addition, the Solar Zone, dedicated to the solar thermal industry, is making its debut at ISH China & CIHE. This new zone is in response to market demand as China continues to be the world’s largest market for solar hot water and space-heating products, accounting for around 70 percent of global capacity.

This percentage is likely to increase due to the Chinese government’s latest 12th Five-Year Plan, which states that alternative energy, energy-saving and environmental protection are now strategic industries. This plan, together with an increasing demand for clean, cost-effective, sustainable and eco-friendly heating solutions, makes China a huge market potential for solar thermal products and technology.

Sanitation Platform

This year’s ISH China & CIHE will feature a hall dedicated to the sanitation industry, showcasing products from domestic and international manufacturers. Li said it was unique for China to have a joint platform featuring sanitation and HVAC exhibitors together.

“We are following the highly successful format of the ISH show held in Frankfurt, Germany,” he explained. “This format offers exhibitors access to the same key end-user groups such as real estate developers, interior designers and those involved with decision making for government projects. It also offers our exhibitors advertising opportunities, trend forums, technical seminars and match-making programs to maximize their participation.

“Leading international and domestic brands wanting to develop business in China’s northern market will find our show very valuable because of its location to fast-growing markets and our knowledge about the purchasing habits of quality buyers. Already because of government policies, we are seeing more manufacturers moving their development focus from main cities to second- and third-tier cities.”

For example, he said, the Chinese government is planning to build 525,407 indemnificatory apartments in northern China in the next year, which will require a huge amount of mid-range level sanitation products to be pre-installed.

Chinese Government Policy Boosts Industry Opportunities

Chinese Government Policy Boosts Industry Opportunities Under the Chinese government’s 12th Five-Year Plan, 28 cities are to implement energy-efficient projects in residential buildings which comply with global standards. Part of this plan includes heat meter transformation projects covering 24 million square miles of urban residential buildings to be completed by the end of 2013. This accounts for nearly 40 percent of current nonenergy-efficient buildings.

Beijing is identified as one of the 28 cities in need of energy-efficiency improvements. The Beijing Municipal Finance Department will fund the city’s heat meter transformation projects with an allocation of RMB 100 per square mile. Once the project is successfully completed, it will be gradually implemented throughout China, offering huge business opportunities to heat meter manufacturers.

ISH China & CIHE is part of Messe Frankfurt’s architecture and technology fairs, headed by the biennial ISH event in Frankfurt taking place March 12-16, 2013.  For more information, visit www.ishc-cihe.com or email info@ishc-cihe.com.
