Obituary: George Raburn, PHCC Vice President
Raburn was a member of the PHCC board from 2006-2009.
George Raburn, vice president of the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association, died March 20 after a recurrence of cancer. Raburn and wife, Karen, founded Raburn & Raburn Plumbing Co. Inc., Stockbridge, Ga., in 1989. He was a member of the PHCC board from 2006-2009, representing Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. He was elected PHCC vice president in 2009.
Raburn held several committee positions within the national group, as well as serving on the PHCC Educational Foundation board and as co-chair of the Invest in Your Future Committee.
At the state level, he was a member of the PHCC of Georgia board since 1995 and served as state president in 1999-2000 and 2003-2004, as well as serving on several committees. In 1998, the PHCC of Georgia recognized Raburn & Raburn with the Contractor of the Year Award.
Raburn is survived by his wife, four children and seven grandchildren. The funeral was held on March 25 at Sharon Baptist Church, McDonough, Ga.
