PHCC Connect 2010: Why Family Businesses Fail

The Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association and Quality Service Contractors will host PHCC Connect 2010 Oct. 27-30 at the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The event, loaded with keynote speakers, educational programs and a trade show, will once again bring together plumbing, heating and cooling contractors from across the country.

On the education end, the conference will feature seminars on topics like fire sprinklers, building information modeling, geothermal, lean works in construction, energy and water conservation, as well as a host of business-related sessions (including social media and fraud in the workplace).

In particular, Wayne Rivers, the cofounder and president of The Family Business Institute, will present his “The Top Nine Reasons Family Businesses Fail and the Secret for Prospering in Hard Times” seminar. Rivers will provide realistic advice from his new book “The Top Nine Reasons Family Businesses Fail-And The Eight Building Blocks For Creating A SUSTAINABLE Closely Held Company.” Rivers is a veteran writer and speaker on the subject of family and closely held businesses.
