Truck cap and tonneau manufacturer A.R.E. has launched a new interactive tool on its Web site that allows consumers to custom build and view a truck cap or tonneau prior to purchase.

By visiting www.4are.com and selecting the "Build/Quote Your Own Truck Cap" link, visitors can virtually display four varieties of fiberglass tonneaus and eight fiberglass truck cap designs on a full-size pickup truck.

"A truck cap or tonneau isn't an impulse buy. It's a well thought out investment," said Bryan Baker, director of marketing for A.R.E. in the site’s announcement. "The interactive feature is a fun tool that will aid consumers in their decision making process."

Consumers begin by picking one of five popular original equipment colors that best matches their pickup. Next, they are asked to select the A.R.E. tonneau or cap of their choice before choosing from different liners, lighting arrangements, windows, racks and other options, depending on the selected covering.

Once the cap or tonneau is virtually built to specifications, the consumer can request a price quote.

Truck owners can also find an area dealer location through the site. Then trained personnel can assist in the selection of the ideal cap or cover for their vehicle model.
