John O'Connor is QSC's new business management coach.

Quality Service ContractorshiredJohn O’Connoras its second business management coach to meet members’ requests for personalized assistance with their businesses. 

O’Connor began his plumbing career in 1982 as a service technician, then promoted to branch manager in 1985. In 1992 he took over a declining plumbing company with 16 trucks that had lost market share for two years and suffered from low employee morale.  By 2001 the company had grown to 33 trucks with yearly sales of $4 million and profits of 24.4 percent. His business experience led him to make use of his skills as a regional manager/business coach with a national plumbing franchise in 2001. For the past year he has worked for a national plumbing company as regional sales manager and currently holds his plumbing contracting license in North Carolina.

In other news, QSC announced that A.O. Smith has become the group's Power Tool sponsor for 2007.  A.O. Smith will be supporting QSC programs and the implementation of those programs for QSC members.

Beginning this year, QSC is offering two new Power Tools for members:  Safety Compliance/Training & Human Resources Compliance/Training. The safety training program includes hundreds of industrial safety training meetings and checklists, federal and state compliance analysis, safety best practices, OSHA regulatory developments, and more. The human resources program clarifies those difficult state and national human resource regulations questions like FMLA, ADA, the Fair Labor Standards Act, etc.
