Mike Maynard, a 26-year veteran of the PHC industry, joined the Quality Service Contractors as a business management coach.

“I’ll be available to consult with members by any means they want,” Maynard said. “On-site visits are one way, but not the only way. Whether it be by e-mail, phone or fax, I’ll be ready to help.”

In his new position, Maynard will help implement the various business management programs QSC offers its members.

“This takes QSC to the next level,” said QSC chairman Scott Ziegler. “QSC members now will be able to bring an expert into their companies who can review it from the inside and out, and make recommendations for improvement.”

Maynard began his career in the heating and air conditioning industry in 1976 as an installer. Maynard worked his way up to other positions, ultimately becoming operation manager in 1985. At the time, the company employed 35 people and had approximately $3.5 million dollars in sales.

Then in 1989, Maynard bought the company and grew it to almost $7 million in sales while employing 65 people. The company was featured on the news show “CBS This Morning,” which highlighted companies with innovative recruiting and programs that retain high-quality employees. Maynard finally sold the company. For the last four years he has been doing turn-arounds for companies owned by consolidators.
