RIDGID(r) Compact 100-B Battery Pressing Tool For Viega Systems

October 1, 2004
Ridge Tool Company's Compact Model 100-B battery-powered pressing tool makes pressed connections on smaller-sized copper and plastic (PEX) tubing in hard-to-reach areas.

Ridge Tool Company's Compact Model 100-B battery-powered pressing tool makes pressed connections on smaller-sized copper and plastic (PEX) tubing in hard-to-reach areas.

The RIDGID(r) Compact Model 100-B features a downsized design and has smaller jaws than existing RIDGID pressing tools and jaws.

The new pressing tool has the capacity to handle copper and plastic tubing up to 1 inch in diameter. Weighing only 7.5 lbs., the compact tool also features a 90-degree swivel barrel for more maneuverability when working around obstructions.

The RIDGID Compact 100-B pressing tool combines the dependability of RIDGID pressing equipment and Viega press fittings for joining copper, PEX and multilayer tubing. Just like the traditional RIDGID pressing tools, the new tool makes reliable, watertight connections and joins wet tubing (types K, L or M).

The compact pressing tool completes a high-strength connection in a matter of seconds, reducing total installation time by 50 percent or more.

Powered by a 14.4-volt, (2.6-Ah) nickel metal hydride battery, it is designed for better performance in extreme temperatures and is estimated to deliver 30 percent more work-per-charge than a standard nickel-cadmium battery.

The new model offers compatible jaws with the following Viega pressed connection systems: ProPress(r) System, Pexcel Pureflow(tm) plumbing systems, Viega radiant heating and snowmelting systems.

For additional information on the RIDGID Compact Model 100-B battery pressing tool, contact Ridge Tool Company at 800/769-7743 or at www.ridgid.com/compact100B.
