Some of the top plumbing students in the nation were named winners of the 40th annual SkillsUSA Championship's residential plumbing contest in Kansas City in June. There were 32 high school students competing in the secondary schools division, and 13 post-secondary students from technical colleges or vo-tech schools in the post-secondary division. Contestants were tasked with roughing-in a variety of fixtures working from a set of specifications. The biggest challenge came as students installed the DWV system, working with cast-iron and transitioning to PVC.
