Tyco International Ltd., manufacturer of fire protection systems and maker of security services, has announced they have signed an agreement to purchase Central Sprinkler Corp. of Lansdale, Pa. The merger is valued at $115 million or $30 per share in cash.

Tyco, operating in more than 80 countries worldwide, also bought the electrical component maker Raychem Corp. for nearly $3 billion in May, and AMP Inc., an electronic device manufacturer, in April for $11.3 billion.

Central Sprinkler is a fire-sprinkler company with more than $220 million in annual revenue. According to Tyco, Central Sprinkler fits in with its businesses in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Fiscal revenues for Tyco in 1999 is expected at $22 billion.
