The “Heat’s On” program donated 133 heating system inspections in Pittsburgh Sept. 26. The program, in its 12th year, is sponsored nationally in 31 cities by the Mechanical Service Contractors Association.

Heat’s On, which is for older adults and special needs homeowners, provides an estimated $1 million in annual service to local recipients. The program in Pittsburgh was held in conjunction with the Mechanical Contractors Association of Western Pennsylvania, Steamfitters Local Union 449 and the Allegheny County Department of Aging.

Since the program began in 1988, more than 1,000 older adults and special needs consumers have participated in Heat’s On.
