Delmarva Power & Light has acquired a fifth residential and commercial plumbing, heating, and air conditioning firm.

Delmarva Power & Light Co., Wilmington, DE, has acquired a fifth residential and commercial plumbing, heating, and air conditioning firm, The Haley Co. of Wyndmoor, Exton and Wayne, PA. The Haley Co. is the second Pennsylvania-based business to join Delmarva Power’s regional service subsidiary. Since October, 1996, four other businesses have become part of the utility’s service team.

The addition of The Haley Co. makes the subsidiary one of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic region, supported by nearly 440 technicians and 165 service trucks serving customers in Delaware, Southern Pennsylvania and Maryland 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

“As we look to our future, we see providing superior service as the key to our success,” said Philip Reese, chief operating officer of Delmarva Power’s energy services subsidiary. Delmarva Power’s service ventures to date are part of an aggressive growth strategy that will include more acquisitions and mergers to offer energy-related products and heating, air-conditioning, indoor air quality, electrical contracting, plumbing, installation, maintenance, and repair services to customers in the broader region.
