Legend Valve announces with profound sadness the passing of David Hickman, Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, and former President. His leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment were instrumental in building Legend into the company it is today.

For 37 years, David was the driving force behind Legend’s growth and success. More than a leader, he was a builder, mentor, and steward of the values that define the organization. Through his determination and entrepreneurial spirit, he helped transform Legend into a trusted partner across the plumbing and PVF industries.

Before beginning his business career, David proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. As Marines often say, there is no such thing as a former Marine—once a Marine, always a Marine—and that truth was evident in David every day. The discipline, resilience, and unwavering sense of purpose shaped in his service became hallmarks of his leadership and his character.

As President and later Chairman of the Board, David led with conviction and humility. He believed deeply in relationships and accountability, consistently prioritizing customers, employees, and partners. His influence extended far beyond strategy—he helped shape a culture grounded in integrity, hard work, and genuine care for people. These principles continue to guide the organization today.
