F.W. Webb Company is marking 160 years in business by focusing on the people responsible for its longevity. To celebrate, the company is showcasing its employees and the relationships it has with the trade professionals it serves.

Established on April 11, 1866, F.W. Webb traces its roots to one of the first plumbing supply houses in Boston, MA. More than a century and a half later, through three generations of Pope family ownership, the company operates as a resource for trade professionals.

Today, F.W. Webb is a $2.6 billion organization covering 16 areas of expertise, with more than 3,700 employees and over one million products in stock.

“As we celebrate this milestone, it is important that we recognize the many people who have contributed to the success we’ve achieved,” said Jeff Pope, owner and president, F.W. Webb. “We value the work of our dedicated, talented team, and truly appreciate the trust our customers place in us. My family will continue the legacy established by my father, grandfather, and their predecessors to support the work of the skilled trades for years to come.”

"Beyond operational excellence, relationships matter at F.W. Webb, particularly the connections it maintains with manufacturers and other business partners." According to the company, equally important are the roles it plays in strengthening and building communities throughout the region and the causes it supports through Boston Children’s Hospital, Bring Back the Trades, SkillsUSA Massachusetts, and other efforts.

Anniversary highlights

To commemorate this milestone, F.W. Webb has developed multiple features that will be unveiled throughout the year highlighting the company’s people-focused philosophy. The features will be added to fwwebb.com and the company’s social media accounts in the coming weeks and months.

  • Employee interviews—Meet the team members who help contractors with F.W. Webb’s products, services, and solutions

  • Commemorative signage—View F.W. Webb’s anniversary signage at Fenway Park, Citizens Bank Park, Yankee Stadium, and other major venues across the Northeast

Looking ahead

Building on 160 years of momentum, F.W. Webb continues to grow and add solutions for trade professionals. The company plans multiple store and facility openings or renovations in 2026, and will open its second central distribution center in Hazleton, PA, in 2027.
