John W. Danforth Company is establishing an official presence in Vermont, with the opening of a new office in Williston. The office is Danforth’s sixth regional office and its first in Vermont.

Located at 20 Clif’s Court, Danforth’s office features 3,000 square feet of professional office space and a 7,600-square-foot pipe fabrication shop. The company aims to employ 10-15 office personnel, including operations, sales estimating and service professionals. In addition, Danforth estimates having 40-60 field workers, including both piping and sheet metal workers, based on workload.

“Strengthening our presence in Vermont, which has become a vibrant market for us, fits perfectly with our vision for strategic growth,” said Danforth President & COO Patrick W. McParlane. “We have an experienced team with a strong understanding of the region. The new office will allow us to leverage our expertise and the relationships we have built in the region to create new opportunities for our company, our people and our customers to grow and succeed.”

Founded in Buffalo, NY in 1884, Danforth has been a leader in the mechanical contracting industry for more than 140 years. The company’s services include HVAC, mechanical design & build, engineering-design modeling, shop fabrication, energy performance contracting, system balancing and commissioning, cleanroom and laboratory construction, process piping, power plant construction services and comprehensive maintenance services. Danforth provides expertise to customers from a broad spectrum of industries, including K-12 and Higher Education, Municipalities, Healthcare, Advanced Technology, Data Centers, Food and Beverage, Industrial, and Commercial Office Buildings, among others.

Danforth has built an active and growing presence in Vermont over the past two decades. Some of the notable projects in which the company has participated in recent years include projects at Spruce Peak in Stowe, work at the CityPlace development in Burlington, BETA Technologies in Williston, Barry Callebaut in St. Albans and Global Foundries in Essex.

“We have had a very positive experience in Vermont and we see a lot of momentum here,” said Craig Rexford, Danforth’s senior manager for the Vermont region. “The energy and activity taking place in and around Burlington and the surrounding area, the strong pool of talented workers, including many long-term Danforth employees who live in Vermont, and the geographic proximity to support projects in other areas make this an exciting move for us.”

In addition to its Williston office, Danforth has more than 1,000 employees across a geographic footprint that includes operations in Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, and Albany, New York, and Columbus, Ohio, covering approximately 750 miles. Across its operations, Danforth has more than 150,000 square feet of fabrication space, providing expertise in pipe, sheet metal, copper, stainless steel, and high-purity fabrication, with skilled tradesworkers utilizing state-of-the-art equipment to support and execute company projects.

Danforth works collaboratively with its union labor partners including the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters (UA), the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers (SMART), and several other labor partners across many local union jurisdictions throughout the northeast and beyond. The company has taken a leadership position in industry organizations, including the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA), the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA), the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), and others.
