BIRMINGHAM, MI — BNP Media’s Plumbing & Mechanical Media Group has received an APEX 2024 award for publication excellence for its 2023 Water Conservation, Quality & Safety eBook.

The APEX Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence. APEX Grand Awards honor the outstanding works in each main category, while APEX Awards of Excellence recognize exceptional entries in each of the individual subcategories.

The Water Conservation, Quality & Safety eBook was awarded in the Electronic Media — Electronic Publications category.

With more than 1,100 entries, the competition was exceptionally intense. 100 Grand Awards were presented to honor outstanding work in 13 major categories, with 439 Awards of Excellence recognizing exceptional entries in 100 subcategories.

“We are very excited to receive this 2024 APEX Award for our annual Water Conservation, Quality & Safety eBook,” said Dan Ashenden, publisher of the Plumbing & Mechanical Media Group. “A huge shout out to our two PM Media Group Chief Editors Nicole Krawcke and Natalie Forster for all the great content and interviews. And while the content was excellent, Mike Holmes, our art director, did an incredible job designing the front cover and graphics. I think that tipped it in for the win. This annual Water eBook has brought attention to all the plumbing/water professionals in the industry the importance of water quality, safety and conservation of our world’s most precious resource. But it is written and presented so consumers can be informed and the next generation can be inspired to join the industry so we can ensure that clean, accessible and safe water access is guaranteed for everyone on the planet.”

The Water Conservation, Quality & Safety eBook, published in November 2023, highlights the emerging trends within the plumbing industry addressing the global water crisis.

“Water scarcity is a very real issue affecting every continent, including North America,” said Krawcke, chief editor of Plumbing & Mechanical magazine. “Billions of people lack access to clean drinking water and safe sanitation — something most of us take for granted daily. The plumbing industry understands the urgent need for water conservation and is taking great strides to address the problem, whether that’s through innovation in developing water-efficient products, social initiatives to replace older, legacy products, charitable work in rural regions or even developing Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This eBook encompasses all of these efforts and more.”

BNP Media is a fourth-generation, family-run media company founded nearly a century ago to provide news to the electric refrigeration industry. It has since grown to one of the largest privately held B2B media and data companies in the U.S. with 34 brands, 31 live events and hundreds of online events and continuing education courses.
