A. O. Smith appoints product management director

Jeffrey T. Ogan will also manage the company’s water-heating technical call centers

Jogan1-EDIT
July 11, 2018

A. O. Smith has announced the appointment of Jeffrey T. Ogan as director of product management and technical support for its North America Water Heating business unit.

In his new role, Ogan is responsible for leading the business unit’s residential and commercial product management teams. In addition, he will manage the company’s residential, commercial, and tankless technical call centers in Ashland City, Tennessee, and Johnson City, Tennessee.

“Jeff brings extensive product knowledge along with the customer’s perspective to his new position,” said David R. Warren, president and general manager-North America Water Heating. “He is an enthusiastic and effective leader and is well suited for this role.”

Ogan joined A. O. Smith in 2013 as a product manager responsible for the gas tankless line of water heating products. His duties included product development, segment sales and profitability growth, and support to operations.

In 2015, he was named a senior product manager; in this role, he led the product development efforts for all North American residential new products.

Prior to coming to A. O. Smith, Ogan served in operations and business development for Sisler Companies of Marion, Ohio, a major supplier to the appliance industry. From 2008 until 2009, he was vice president of operations for Phase 2 LLC of St. Louis, Missouri — a design, sourcing, marketing, and sales company serving the consumer products industry.

Other positions included vice president and national account manager for Ogan Group Inc. of Hendersonville, Tennessee, an independent manufacturer’s representative; and account representative with Fisher Scientific Company LLC of Madison, Wisconsin, a distributor of biomedical capital equipment, reagents, chemicals, and medical disposables.

Ogan earned his bachelor's degree in physiology from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and his master's in biological sciences from Illinois State University in Normal.
