100,000 Skilled Workers Needed by 2014
At the recent 2007
HVACR & Plumbing Instructor Workshop, Jo Rae Wagner (CTO Inc., Harlingen,
TX) informed attendees that according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics,
by 2014 this country will need 29% more HVACR and 21% more plumbing technicians
- more than 100,000 skilled workers.
At the recent 2007 HVACR & Plumbing Instructor Workshop, Jo Rae Wagner (CTO Inc., Harlingen, TX) informed attendees that according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, by 2014 this country will need 29% more HVACR and 21% more plumbing technicians - more than 100,000 skilled workers. Wagner, 2006-2007 PHCC-NA President, stressed the immediate and ongoing need for trained technicians. “I love this industry. It’s been very good to me and my family.” But, she noted, “We have a long way to go to show the world that technical training is an important and honorable profession.”
