“The NCPWB has enhanced its focus
on safety,” said John Barrasso, executive vice
president of the MCA of Connecticut and chair of the NCPWB Safety Task Force.
“Working with MCAA’s Safety and Health department, our group created a
publication that addresses all aspects of welding safety, including respiratory
protection, the safe use of grinding machines, fire safety and more.”
director of safety and health for MCAA, added: “A set of safety talks that
specifically address welding hazards will be a big asset to NCPWB members. They
will help our welders remain cognizant of the most common welding-related
hazards and the best ways to protect themselves from those hazards.”
NCPWB Toolbox Safety Talks is
available for immediate download from MCAA’s Bookstore at www.mcaa.org/store,
where contractors also can find a variety of safety and management publications
designed specifically for pipe welders. There is no charge for MCAA members to
