Pump Systems Matter, an educational initiative created to assist North American pump users, is now offering a free one-hour Webinar covering the new ASME EA-2-2009 standard“Energy Assessment for Pumping Systems.”The standard sets the requirements for conducting and reporting the results of pumping system assessments. The entire pumping system, from energy inputs to the work performed as the result of these inputs, is considered.

A series of Webinars are planned on multiple dates:
  • Nov. 9, 2010
  • Dec. 16, 2010
  • Feb. 2, 2011
All Webinars will be at 2 p.m. EST. To register, go to www.Pumps.org/WebExEvents.

“Those who specify, operate and maintain pumping systems need to understand and implement this new standard to optimize their systems for energy conservation,” said Robert Asdal, executive director for the Hydraulic Institute and Pump Systems Matter.

In addition, Pump Systems Matter and the Hydraulic Institute are offering a variety of free tools for pump users at www.Pumps.org/freestuff. Included are a pump system improvement modeling tool, optimizing pumping systems executive summary, pump life cycle costs executive summary and a LCC calculation tool.

Copies of the EA-2-2009 “Energy Assessment for Pumping Systems” Standard can be purchased at www.Pumps.org/ASME for $35.
