Federated Insurance recently hosted a designated risk manager seminar at its Minnesota headquarters.

In conjunction with the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors Association, 29 individuals, representing a cross-section of the specialty contracting industry, recently attended a two-and-a-half-day “Designated Risk Manager Training” seminar at Federated Insurance’s corporate headquarters in Owatonna, Minn.

Professional trainers and risk management experts covered a variety of topics, including hiring practices, employment-related practices liability, business succession planning, MVRs and driver standards, distracted driving, disaster planning, and work comp claims management.

PHCC attendees learned that spending risk management dollars wisely can provide immediate savings to their businesses. According toHal Hester, president of North Mecklenburg Plumbing Co. in Huntersville, N.C., “There are no short cuts to success – with new and practical ideas, it all came together for me during the presentation on ‘Managing the Ultimate Risk’.”
