Rebuilding Together Rehabs Six New Orleans Houses
Rebuilding Together, along with volunteers from
the Louisiana Attorney General’s office, PepsiCo and others, rehabbed six homes
in New Orleans last December. The restoration was funded and coordinated by the
Order of Malta, a lay religious order of the Roman Catholic Church. The
week-long rebuilding effort focused specifically on six houses in New Orleans’
Treme neighborhood. It is part if the organization’s Rebuild 1000! program, a
commitment to rehab 1,000 homes damaged by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
