Industry Web Sites

September 21, 2006
A roundup of updates and new launches of industry Web sites.

(Click on links below.)

  • Charlotte Pipe and Foundry's Web site was recently complimented by Steve Chickillo, Thomas Industrial Network senior marketing strategist. He called it one of the most content-rich site in the industrial market, and noted that traffic to the site has increased since its redesign in June 2005.

  • Construction Recruiters Network, a group of construction executive firms, launched its new Web site. The site introduces a network of recruiters and job opportunities unique to the construction industry.

  • eXchange Plumbing Products Online introduced a B-to-B plumbing auction Web site as an alternative to eBay. Founded by two plumbing engineers with more than 40 years' combined experience, the site is dedicated to the commercial and residential plumbing industry to bid, buy and sell plumbing products.

  • HomePortfolio, a consumer Internet company with a database of premium home design products, announced partnerships with several wholesale plumbing supply companies to join the company's network of dealers - Weinstein Supply of Eastern Pennsylvania; Austin Plumbing Supply of Austin, Texas; Pace Supply Co. of Santa Rosa, Calif.; and Torrington Supply of Waterbury, Conn.

A key feature of the HomePortfolio.com site is the “Where to Buy It” section, which directs users to retailers, manufacturers and distributors close to where they live.

  • Patterson Pump Co. launched a new, comprehensive Web site, which features the company's water, wastewater, fire, HVAC and industrial pumps, and Flo-Pak® prepackaged municipal, HVAC and plumbing systems. The fully searchable site also presents a PumpFinder, a PackageFinder, a literature library, a product photo gallery, background/application case histories, a newsroom, and easy-order request forms for information, training and other services.

  • The Plumbing Manufacturers Institute updated its Web site to include a bi-monthly President's Message, an events calendar, new search functionality, a Careers in Plumbing area, position statements, and a manufacturer search function.

  • Premier Faucet's new faucet Web site provides detailed information about the company's high-quality faucets, accessories and showerheads. The Web site contains a complete catalog, specification sheets and parts lists for every Premier faucet. Visitors to the site can search for faucets by function or by collection name.

  • RenovationExperts.com, a nationwide network of home improvement contractors, now offers financial assistance for homeowners looking to start a home improvement project. Financing ranges from small project loans under 5,000 to larger home equity loans and lines of credit. The site works with select large national lenders and banks, as well as local financial professionals.
