About 300 new Uniform Plumbing Code and 60 Uniform Mechanical Code proposals for the 2006 code documents were presented April 26-30 at the UPC and UMC Technical Committee meetings in Denver. The committees considered proposals on new materials and methods of installation, as well as updating and adding product standards to each code document.

The committees' final actions will be published in a Report of Proposals this August. The comment period on the proposals ends Feb. 1, 2005. All comments will be reviewed during the committees' April 2005 meeting.
