Oil Heat Cares, a charitable foundation spearheaded by NAOHSM (National Association of Oil Heat Service Managers) recently received IRS Code 501C-3 status and launched a comprehensive Web site,www.oilheatcares.com. Individuals now are able to donate to the foundation and be assured a deduction on their taxes.

Judy Garber, executive administrator for NAOHSM, states, “After months of anticipation, it is so exciting to finally receive word from the IRS that we can now openly become more aggressive with fundraising for this project. The Web site will give oil companies, our members and other folks that want to do some good in their neighborhoods a place to go for information about Oil Heat Cares and how they can get involved.”

Throughout the year, NAOHSM's oil-heat professionals volunteer to repair and replace boilers and other hydronic heating components for people in need. The new Web site highlights some of the approved charitable projects from NAOHSM's 30 chapters, and recognizes sponsors, vendors and contributors to the foundation.

Upcoming fundraising events and news can be viewed, and contractors interested in nominating a deserving recipient can fill out an online form.

In other news, PM will publish a special Oil Heat Cares supplement in April 2006, highlighting the charitable work of the foundation along with the contractors involved and equipment used.
